I was with Ameritrade for nearly a year. My IRA NEVER appreciated in value. I sought the advice of an Amerivestcustomer service rep. I won't use his name, he assured myself with the utmost sincerity, he and I would createa more suitable portfolio for IRA gains. I contacted this gentleman twice and he never returned my phone calls!I was reported by the Customer Service rep who set my account with Ameritrade to a Supervisor! Why this occurred I will never understand. I had not spoken with him in nearly two months!I did leave a voice mail of no consequence, a regular concern and the end result was a phone callfrom an Ameritrade Supervisor! Why?. Anyone listening to the recording would have wondered whythis happened at all. Well, I spoke to a nasty, rude individual claiming she was a supervisor.Natch, this conversation led to bickering and overall impression another example of the incompetence and stupidity of Ameritrade exhibits towards their clients!.

I decided to transfer my IRA to another investment company. Could you blame me?Between the transfer of assets to the other firm to create my new account, a livingnightmare appeared between myself and Amerivest!. The small balance of myIRA remained at Ameritrade as an open rather than closed account. Always a reasonthe IRA still held assets to be transferred. Lies all the way from Ameritrade! After reporting the problems I was having with an Amerivest client supposedlyhandling my IRA account, I sought an Amerivest Supervisor. Her stupidity advicewas to place a three way call to the other firm. The firm is located in Californiatwo hours between central time. The supervisor left a message, I was angryand made remarks to the firm about the poor handling Amerivest was demonstrating!Guess what happened next.....she hung up the phone! Next step I contacted Amertrade's Home Office!Luckily, I spoke to a Ameritrade individual from the Ameritrade Home Office. She gave me the correct advice. Very simple action needed to be takento complete the transfer. I never received any e-mails from anyonedealing with my transfer. I contacted the Amerivest supervisor priorto the call to the home office. The supervisor assured me on a Thursdayeverything would transfer ASAP. I called the next day, and she saidwithout e-mail's no action was being taken until she received a formfrom the other firm to complete and send to Ameritrade.I wonder what would have happened if a had not made the callFriday?. Ameritrade A HUGE COMPANY has little or zerorespect for their clients and also reflects deception in someoccasions, my experience was an example.Pains are not worth gains with Ameritrade!Invest your money wisely, seek another brokerage firm!DO NOT INVEST WITH AMERITRADE YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DID!!!!!!to

Reason of review: Poor customer service.
